The Next Journey

Over the last month, I have had the opportunity to capture 20 different graduates senior photos. While it may have seemed like it was the end of the journey, it is very much just the beginning.

During my grad shoot sessions I make it a point to try to talk and learn more about each of their journeys. From business majors to nurses it was really a bittersweet thing to hear them reflect on their time in school. “What was your favorite part during your time here?” This question led to a very similar result across almost every grad. I asked a very open question that could have led to many unique answers, maybe a specific class or a certain internship was what I was expecting to hear. However the answer was very simple with each person.

“The People.”

School has provided such a community too many of these students that allowed them to meet and expand their network in a vast new way. The thing that is really neat to think about, is when they answered the question, I can almost guarantee that mental images went through each of their minds of the people that are important to them. Really neat to think about.

This season provided a variety of different shooting environments. Dealing with harsh sunlight, to working between storms to fit their tight schedules. Each student got to pick 3 of their favorite places on campus and we just captured them in their moment. Not having a firm number of photos for clients was really cool this year. The average amount of photos they received across 20 graduates was 77! (that’s a lot of smiles :)

Thank you for reading, it really means the world to me!
